During the painting seminar with Gerhard Hillmayr, we went to the Walchensee wone day. The Walchensee is a lake nearby the Lake Kochel. It is known by many paintings by Lovis Corinth, who had a house at this lake. We did a painting of some colorful trees standing at its shores.

Last weekend, we went on a walk around Allendorf (Lumda) and admired the colorful autumn trees. At a place where we could see the big quarry nearby, I did a sketch which I transferred into this watercolor painting later.

This is a famous place in Murnau, Bavaria called Kottmüller Allee (Alley). It has been painted by Gabriele Münter who lived there with Wassily Kandinsky during the beginning of the 20th century. One afternoon during the seminar, we painted at the Loisach Moos, a swampy area near Kochel am See in Bavaria. There are many huts in that area which we tried to capture in an abstract way.

Last week, we painted one day at the Murnauer Moos in Bavaria. This is a famous motive, because Gabriele Muenter (member of the Blauer Reiter) has also painted at that place in the last century. Here are two watercolors in a reduced style which I did on that day. Below is a photo of the scenery.

I’m back from my painting seminar with Mr. Hillmayr, which took place last week. It was a very inspiring an interesting week and a lot of fun too. We were a group of 12 watercolor painters who did a plein air session every morning and one every afternoon. Fortunately, the weather was fine and autumn colors were present everywhere.
